two day Clinics
A supportive two full day climbing clinic created for BIPOC folks to learn the fundamentals of sport lead climbing. Build technical skills and confidence in an affirming community-centered environment.
This clinic takes place over the course of both Saturday and Sunday with important curriculum pieces on each day.

This clinic is designed for gym climbers that are looking to transition to outdoor climbing. You’ll cover topics such as gear, technique, and crag ethics. Take everything you’ve learned in the and apply it to real rock, Rumney is said to be like an outdoor gym, come see if it’s true!

Rumney is known for its high quantity and high quality moderate sport climbing. Join a guide for a tour of some of the most classic 5.10’s in Rumney. Not only have a chance to climb the routes, but receive coaching and learn some new skills in the process.

Join Peak Ascents for an in-depth psyche dive into conquering fears. From cheese grater slabs, to open whips, learning to let go is how you take controll.

Carving fresh, found wood into useful objects is a fun, relaxing, satisfying hobby. In this class you will cover an overview of this "green" woodworking, including tools, materials, process, technique, and safety. You will learn safe, effective knife grips. Finally, the group will move onto carving a cheese knife/butter spreader to take home. Wrapping up with a discussion on finishing touches, decoration possibilities, and how to continue in the craft. This session is a great intro if you’re interested in carving spoons one day. No experience necessary and all tools provided.

Join Rumney Climbers Association in connecting in Rumney Rocks Day Use Area (Buffalo Pit) to the summit of Rattlesnake Mountain in White Mountain National Forest. For this four hour clinic, you will be traveling off site to Rumney Rocks to get your hands dirty! Help RCA blaze a trail to connect two fantastic recreation areas on WMNF.

Interested in looking a little bit closer at your surroundings? Looking to develop a new rest day hobby? Or just take a break and play with some paint? Watercolor Artist and Access Fund Northeast Regional Manager Molly Mundy will guide you through an introduction to outdoor watercolor sketching. We’ll work on a few different techniques and tips for using watercolors, and then focus on exploring how watercolor can deepen our connection to place and landscape, by working on creating our own paintings of whatever inspires us. All materials are provided (BYO camp chair if you have one), no previous painting experience necessary!

Inspired by new Hampshire animistic and shamanic traditions, this guided Nature Therapy Walk at the Barn Door Hostel invites you to explore the interconnectedness of life as you move gently through the woods and by the river. Participants will learn to identify local flora and fauna, receive educational insights, and engage in mindfulness practices that promote reflection and presence. You can expect an opening circle, opportunities for reflection, nature education, and a closing share. What to bring: weather-appropriate clothing, water, a small journal (optional), and an open heart and mind. We look forward to walking with you.
