Getting to Barn Door Hostel
Barn Door Hostel is located in Rumney, New Hampshire, in the heart of New Hampshire's White Mountains and Lakes Region.

Once you arrive in Plymouth:
Barn Door Hostel can often provide shuttle pickup from the Plymouth Park & Ride/Town Hall area with advance notice.
Because staffing varies throughout the season, pickup must be arranged before you book your transportation.
This is our preferred public transportation option because Plymouth is only about 15 minutes from the hostel.

Hanover / Lebanon Shuttle
Hanover and Lebanon serve as western New Hampshire's primary transportation hub.
If you're arriving by Greyhound, Dartmouth Coach, or another carrier, Barn Door Hostel may be able to arrange pickup from Hanover or Lebanon.
Because this is approximately one hour from the hostel:
Advance planning is required.
Shuttle availability depends on staffing.
Shuttle fee is generally around $100 per vehicle, regardless of the number of passengers (up to vehicle capacity).
If you're traveling as a group, this can often be a surprisingly affordable option when the cost is split among several people.

Rental Cars
Having a vehicle is the best way to explore the White Mountains, climbing areas, lakes, hiking trails, restaurants, and scenic drives around Barn Door Hostel.

Turo is another excellent option, particularly for guests arriving in Albany or Buffalo.

Before booking, pay close attention to mileage limits.
Many vehicles include only 200 miles.
If driving from Albany or Buffalo, choose an unlimited-mileage vehicle whenever possible.
Otherwise, additional mileage is typically charged at approximately $0.40β$0.50 per mile.

A convenient option for guests coming from Canada or Vermont.

Coming by Train
While train travel to New Hampshire is possible, there is no passenger rail service close to Barn Door Hostel.
All train routes require additional transportation, typically by bus and/or rental car.
For most travelers, flying, driving, or taking a bus is significantly easier and often faster.
